Advisory Board

Meet the 3E Advisory Board (3E-AB)

3E-AB members aid the research team in study design, recruitment and retention, interpretation of research findings, and creative dissemination strategies. Members participant in quarterly (4 times per year) 3E-AB meetings via Zoom and monthly (optional) one-on-one mentoring meetings.

Ezinne Ndubuisi is a senior undergraduate student at California State University, East Bay (CSUEB). Ms. Ndubuisi is a Public Health Student with a minor in Biostatistics and would like to pursue graduate studies in Epidemiology/Biostatistics with a focus in Maternal and Child Health.

"I am excited about the 3E study because I will be working (with this team) on identifying or understanding factors that affect health in a diverse population group that have (at least) one thing in common-- being a student."

Seevar Jamal (she/her) attends University of California, Riverside (UCR) as a freshman. Ms. Jamal is a biology major and plans to attend medical school in the future in order to become a pediatrician.

"I am excited to be part of the 3E Study Advisory Board to be able to help see how race, ethnicity, and socioeconomics can affect a person’s health, be able to identify risks and help with finding protective factors."

 

Dingfei (Diffie) Liu (she/her) is a 4th year accounting student at University of California, Riverside (UCR). Ms. Liu has experience in marketing, consulting, and related fields.

"I hope to help more students find their healthy lifestyles and understanding the health research we do."

Rachel Ocampo (she/her) is a recent graduate from California State University, East Bay (CSUEB) with a B.S. degree in Public Health. She obtained an A.A. degree in Human Development from Ohlone College prior to transferring to CSUEB.

"I am excited about the 3E study because I have always found research interesting especially when it relates to health."

Sophia Bai is a freshman at University of California, Riverside (UCR) and is from the Bay Area. Ms. Bai is part of youth community service initiatives and a COVID-19 research study.

"I am excited to demonstrate the power of youth to make meaningful change."

Interested in joining the 3E-AB?

3E-AB members will hold 1 or 2 year terms with the option to renew once their term limit is complete. To apply, you must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at UC Riverside or Cal State East Bay, be between the ages of 18-24, and be able to attend our quarterly virtual meetings. All current students are welcome to apply, but participants of the 3E Study (i.e., those who have completed at least one survey and campus health visit) will be given priority. If you are eligible and have not already participated in the 3E Study, you may fill out our screeners for CSUEB or UCR first-year or transfer students between the ages of 18-24.

We seek to elevate student voices in our project -- and we value your insights and expertise as a current college student! We will also encourage all 3E-AB members to take advantage of individualized mentoring to support your personal and professional growth. You will receive an annual stipend of $250. You will be expected to attend and participate in virtual meetings, which will last one hour. If you are interested , please fill out the following application:
